LET’S DIVE IN!
Travel Tips:
1. Tipping: not necessary in Bali, but if you have some extra change and want to, it would be really appreciated!
2. Leave valuable items at home (expensive jewelry etc.)
3. Don’t carry your passport around with you. (bring printed copy), take a photo of your passport and email it to yourself. Just in case.
4. Jetlag: We are traveling across the world. Arriving early on the 11th was planned so that we really give ourselves that first day to begin to adjust. It may take a couple days to adjust to the time zone. Jetlag sucks, but do expect that you’ll have it, we are 12 hours ahead. It’s good to try to stick to the local time and do our best to wake and sleep according to the timezone we are in!
5. Weather: HOT :) humid. Summer. Dry season
6. Reminder when flying: Liquids to go through TSA must be 3.4 oz or smaller
7. Travel light: Pack less. In most cases you can look at what you've packed and trim it down! (i’m team “carry on” only, all day, no worrying about lost luggage or delays)
8. Respect/Coverage: There are a-lot of temples and times where we might have to have a cover up on hand!
What: Covering our shoulders and knees.
How: Wear a sarong or long skirt and have a cover up / shall / another sarong for the arms and shoulders.
9. Know where you are staying
Save this on your phone on google notes if you want
When you arrive and go through customs, they may ask you this
10. Don’t expect to see / do EVERYTHING:
Focus on meeting new people and Resetting rather than on visiting every single cultural site or doing every excursion.
11. Trust your intuition
12. Let your friends / family know where you are going
